At Adelphi University, we understand the importance of comprehensive dental care. That’s why we offer our valued employees a range of dental plan options through Cigna—Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) and Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO)—tailored to meet your unique needs.
Dental Plan Options
Choose from three levels of coverage with Cigna:
- DPPO: Comprehensive coverage with a $1,000 calendar year benefit maximum and no orthodontia coverage.
- DPPO with Orthodontia: Enhanced coverage including orthodontia benefits for dependent children up to age 19, with a $1,500 lifetime benefit maximum and a $1,500 calendar year benefit maximum.
- DHMO: A budget-friendly option with no deductibles, no dollar maximums, and a focus on preventive care.

- Convenient $5 office visit fee, with no claim forms or waiting periods for coverage

Nothing in this summary of benefits may be construed as a contract with any employee, which can occur only by a specific written agreement between Adelphi University and the employee. The University reserves the right to change, modify or eliminate any benefit in this summary at any time, with or without notice, according to the terms of the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Each year, Annual Enrollment is provided in November during which time employees may elect to change plans with the change being effective on the subsequent January 1.
