Employee Guide
On August 1, 2024, Adelphi University implemented a new policy on Sex Discrimination, Sexual Misconduct and Other Prohibited Conduct which adheres to the U.S. Department of Education’s 2024 Title IX Final Regulations. The new regulations increase reporting responsibilities for all Adelphi employees.
Key components of the policy include
- Employees who are not confidential have mandatory responsibilities to report any prohibited conduct to the Title IX Coordinator.
- All employees have a mandatory responsibility to share the Title IX Coordinator’s contact information with any student who discloses a pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition.
While Title IX requires training for all employees, in the spring we will share a full, in-depth, required training for employees to take. In the meantime, the instructional video below will help you learn about prohibited conduct, your responsibilities, and how to make a report. The video is less than six minutes.
Next steps
Continued education plays an important part in supporting an environment that is free from sex discrimination. In Spring 2025, all employees will receive an updated mandatory training on anti-discrimination and Title IX.
