The Adelphi University School of Social Work is a student-centered and engaged community that prepares reflective practitioners, leaders, scholars, and educators to work in collaboration with global and diverse communities in solving complex problems and producing knowledge. We prepare BSW, MSW, and doctoral students to be lifelong learners for effective, ethical, antiracist and anti-oppressive practice striving for social justice and human rights for a global and diverse society.

Our Distinctive Learning Approach

With a deep-rooted commitment to making a difference in society, the school of social work at Adelphi actively places students in real-life settings, allowing them to work firsthand with individuals, families, and community groups. By fostering collaboration with other professionals, the school aims to produce compassionate and skilled social workers who can make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who require assistance.

Our classes are small and supportive, whether they are taught in a traditional classroom setting or online. The curriculum is challenging, but the schedule is not—we teach at multiple locations in convenient formats. Our faculty and leadership are engaged social work scholars with extensive teaching experience. They are also recognized leaders in their respective areas of expertise.

We are engaged in an ongoing process of program assessment and continuous improvement in accordance with Accreditation Standard of the Council on Social Work Accreditation.
