Staying safe on campus means trying to avoid danger, but also being aware of what to do in potentially dangerous situations. We have resources that can help you avoid danger, and provides tips on how to handle risky situations.

Public Safety and Transportation
We want everyone to feel safe, secure and welcome here at Adelphi. Public Safety will respond at any time of day or night to provide assistance, respond to emergencies, take a report or investigate an incident.
Garden City Campus
- Dial 5 or ext. 3507 or 3511 from any in-house telephone
- Utilize any blue light emergency call box or pick up any red phone
- Contact any public safety officer or respond to the Public Safety Command Center located on the west side of Levermore Hall

Hauppauge Center

NYC-Brooklyn Center

Hudson Valley Center

Behavioral Intervention Team
The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is a campus-wide team that responds to reports from the campus community regarding concerning, disruptive or threatening behaviors by students, employees and others that can lead to potential or actual serious safety issues.
- Get Immediate Help: For any dangerous or threatening behavior, call the Department of Public Safety at 516.877.3511 or dial 911.
