The Latin American and Latinx studies BA degree is an interdisciplinary studies program.
Latin American and Latinx Studies is a diverse field that bridges the social sciences, natural sciences and humanities in the study of the Americas. With this interdisciplinary degree, you’ll be prepared for a variety of careers in international relations, international business, healthcare-related fields, teaching, politics, or law. More importantly, it prepares you to become an informed citizen with sensitivity to the wants and needs of multicultural populations.

In an increasingly globalized world, a degree in Latin American and Latinx studies opens the door to a career in many fields requiring expertise on our neighbors in Latin America—art, business, education, journalism, law or public health. The minor in Latin American and Latinx studies enhances a variety of majors that prepare you for a career in law, education, justice administration, healthcare, social work and business. A minor will increase your understanding of and cultural sensitivity to people from diverse backgrounds.
Students in this program are also eligible to enter STEP, which allows you to earn a master’s degree and prepare for teacher certification with one additional year, saving you time and tuition costs.
