Adelphi University is among colleges and universities cited by Money for combining education quality, affordability and graduate earning power.
Affordability
Affordability is a top concern for students these days, and Adelphi University's College of Professional and Continuing Studies (CPCS) offers a number of ways to make the degree you need accessible to you.
The generous transfer and life-experience credit policies and our Finish Line Program for readmitted Adelphi students make our programs remarkably economical.
Ways to Save on Your Education
Transfer Credits
Adelphi’s generous transfer-credit policy allows you to apply completed college coursework to your College of Professional and Continuing Studies program—even if you completed the course years ago. We’ll review your transcripts from previous colleges quickly. You can get a good idea of how your credits might transfer to Adelphi by using the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) on our website.
Life Experience Credits
Most students at the College of Professional and Continuing Studies are able to reduce the cost and time of completing a degree by taking advantage of Credits for Prior Learning (CPL). Credit may be given through standardized tests or for military training or professional training. The Credit Predictor on our website can be a guide to your chances of receiving credit for your experience.
Finish Line Program
If you made substantial progress toward your Adelphi degree through the College of Professional and Continuing Studies, but had to leave the University more than three years ago, you can benefit from our Finish Line Program. Eligible participants can have their debt forgiveness and receive academic forgiveness.
Aid for Veterans and Students on Active Duty
As a Yellow Ribbon school, Adelphi University is ranked in the top 20 percent of colleges that offer exceptional benefits and resources for veterans and active duty military. The Veterans Administration determines the type of benefits (Chapter) for which the veteran is eligible. All questions about your eligibility should be directed to the VA for resolution.
Grants and Awards
All admitted College of Professional and Continuing Studies students will be automatically considered for the Timothy Costello College of Professional and Continuing Studies Awards. This is a $2,000 award per year for full-time students (12 or more credits) and $1,000 per year for part-time (6-11 credits).
The College of Professional and Continuing Studies Grant is offered to students who demonstrate financial need as determined by filing the FAFSA. You will automatically be considered for this grant upon Adelphi’s receipt of your valid processed FAFSA.
