Announcements and new projects we are working on this summer.
As finals come to a close, the Office of Information Technology would like to bring you a few important announcements and introduce some projects we are working on this summer.
eRecycling Day
On Friday, May 16, from 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m., IT is hosting an eRecycling Day. Bring old electronics (computers, laptops, phones, tablets, monitors, printers, peripherals, etc.) to the parking lot outside Hagedorn Hall for free, environmentally conscious recycling. All participants receive a free raffle entry for a chance to win a refurbished laptop. An Adelphi ID is required.
Online Security
With the recent “Heartbleed” bug, it is more important than ever to be vigilant about your online security. If your password is set to expire soon, change it before you leave for vacation. See more security tips at it.adelphi.edu/security.

If you haven’t explored it yet, we invite you to check out the IT Services Catalog for an ever-growing list of the technology Adelphi has to offer.
Prepare for Time Away from the Office
If you will be away from the office for an extended period, we recommend that you backup all files on your H: drive and/or your Adelphi Google Drive. Turn off not only your computer but also printers, monitors, scanners, and other electronic equipment. If you will not be checking your University email account regularly, we encourage you to set up a vacation autoresponder message on AU Gmail and to change your voicemail message.

In collaboration with University Libraries, new tech-infused study spaces will be created on the first floor of Swirbul Library. In addition, the Gallagher Lab on the second floor will be renovated to include several multimedia enhancements and collaborative work spaces, available for teaching purposes. |

| A new Student Life website is being developed to make it easier for you to find services and resources. And a new interface will be available to enhance engagement for clubs and organizations. | |

Improvements to how you print are being developed so that you can print from mobile devices at Adelphi with ease. |

| VoiceThread and Panopto will be added to the Moodle suite of teaching tools to respectively enable you to lead asynchronous multimedia discussions and record micro-lectures with multiple inputs. Details will be provided soon from the FCPE. | |
