Dear Adelphi family,
United by our values, our university family will always rally and support one another, especially in times of challenge and sadness. Recent events of prejudice, racism and violence are unspeakable and I extend my heart to our Asian and Asian American friends, family and community members.
This morning, our Adelphi University social media accounts and my presidential accounts shared the following message. I want to emphasize it and share it with you in email as well:
Adelphi is saddened and angered by the racially motivated violence and xenophobia seen nationwide towards Asians and Asian Americans, including the horrific shootings in Atlanta, Georgia. We recognize that many Adelphi community members have been deeply affected by this tragedy. We reaffirm our commitment to fostering a safe and welcoming community. To our Asian and Asian American students especially, our entire community including the Counseling and Interfaith centers are here to support you during this difficult time.
Please take time for self-care and seek out the resources that Adelphi offers to support you.
