Brett Spielberg, a 2013 honors alum of the department, was awarded the “Rising Star Award” from the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island. The award is “presented to a newcomer to public relations who exhibits exceptional talent and professionalism.”
Anna Akerman (pictured at right) continues as academic liaison with Nickelodeon’s Kids & Family Group. Akerman is studying children ages 2-17 with the goal “to inform (the company) about the key developmental changes and themes that occur within stages of childhood and adolescence” to better help Nickelodeon’s executives and production teams.
The American Psychiatric Association has asked Peter Costello to submit a proposal for a second book following the critical success of Attachment-Based Psychotherapy. Costello earlier conducted a two hour on-camera therapy session for APA videos in Chicago, interacting with volunteer patients before discussing his findings with graduate students.
