Dear Adelphi Community,

We are postponing our planned repair of an underground pipe between Hagedorn Hall and the University Center until late May, after Commencement. Therefore, there will be no planned interruption to heat and hot water on our Garden City campus next week.

After reviewing the project timeline with our contractors, we determined that the work cannot be completed in the Spring Break timeframe. Here’s what this means for Spring Break (March 17–23):

  • There is no planned shutdown of heat or hot water on our Garden City campus.
  • All campus buildings and residence halls will continue to have heat and hot water during Spring Break.
  • Residents who were on a waitlist for alternative housing in Residence Hall A or B can remain in their residence hall without interruption.
  • Please note our updated Spring Break dining services hours of operation:
    • Starbucks
      • Saturday and Sunday (March 15-16): 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
      • Monday – Friday (March 17-21): 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    • UC Dining Hall
      • Saturday, March 15 – Saturday, March 22: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
      • Sunday, March 23: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Post Hall – Closed during Spring Break

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust the timeline to address this necessary maintenance efficiently with minimal impact on the Adelphi community.
