PBS Publishes an Excerpt of Deborah Serani’s Book on Later Life Depression

Depression in Later Life: An Essential Guide, by Deborah Serani, Psy.D.

Deborah Serani, Psy.D., an adjunct professor in Adelphi University’s Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies, recently published her book, Depression in Later Life: An Essential Guide (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016). The book offers practical guidance and  case studies of  aging and elderly individuals who have been diagnosed with depression either in their younger years or more recently.

Readers can now read an excerpt of the book, thanks to Next Avenue, a national news service for the over-50 population produced by Twin Cities PBS. In the excerpt, Dr. Serani describes treating an 81-year-old woman for depression.
