Dr. Rudolph’s research brings together political, social, and cultural history. She has worked as the Managing Editor of the journal French Politics, Culture and Society and is author of the book At Home in Postwar France: Modern Mass Housing and the Right to Comfort.

Nicole Rudolph, Ph.D., holds graduate degrees from several institutions, including a Master’s degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Pittsburgh, a DEA in Social Sciences from the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary French Studies from New York University. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Research Award and came to Adelphi University in 2009 from Columbia University, where she directed the Maison Française. Before joining the Honors College, Dr. Rudolph was Associate Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and held a joint appointment in the Department of History. She has also served as the Director of Adelphi’s International Studies Program.

She also serves as a member of the Board of Visitors for the University Honors College at the University of Pittsburgh, her alma mater, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in her junior year.
