The Office of Information Technology is very excited to welcome you back to campus! This summer has been one of tremendous growth, partnership, and excitement. The IT department has been eagerly awaiting the return of our faculty, students and staff.
Given the current and expected adjustments to academia, a clear shift to hyflex and hybrid modalities was necessary. A comprehensive review and assessment of the existing technology and available solutions took place early in the summer, resulting in the purchase and installation of high-definition audio and video equipment in various academic spaces on the campus.
- The newly installed adjustable 1080p webcams and virtual microphone arrays allow faculty to record and livestream classes for synchronous, asynchronous and hyflex formats.
- The equipment has been integrated with the existing computer in the classroom and will allow faculty to utilize their preferred software including Zoom, Panopto, Google Meet, etc.
- Training guides will be posted in every campus classroom. A short but detailed training video has been included at the bottom of this message.
Having our faculty comfortable with the technology available is key to a successful student experience. Over 125 training sessions between IT and faculty have taken place over the past few weeks. IT will continue to offer training appointments for faculty teaching on-campus this Fall. Training opportunities will be expanded to meet your needs.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns, or to set up a training appointment.
