The McElroy Family Performing Arts Center Fund was created in 2021 to enhance and create exceptional programming at our Performing Arts Center related to dance, music or theater.
The initial gift of nearly $27,000 will sponsor visiting guest artists, workshops and master classes, and allow the Performing Arts Center to hire professional directors, designers and choreographers to work on student productions.
The family’s generous gift is just one form of their abiding support for Adelphi. Over the years, Barbara McElroy has served as president of the Adelphi Parents and Families Association, was a member of our Arts Development Board and is now a member of our Women’s Giving Circle, a group of philanthropists whose mission is to celebrate, promote and support the University. Her children, Daniel and Carrie McElroy, graduated from Adelphi in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
