High Impact Teaching at Adelphi

One way that Adelphi shows its commitment to student learning is through its support for High Impact Educational Practices (HIPs).  HIPs are a set of best teaching practices that have been shown to produce improved student learning outcomes and retention rates, particularly for traditionally underserved student populations.

Adelphi’s High Impact Practices Committee, in partnership with the Faculty Center for Professional Excellence, recently put out a call for proposals for a 2014-2015 HIPs Faculty Teaching and Learning Grant. The grant supports faculty in developing, implementing and assessing HIPs teaching practices at Adelphi. As part of the program, the FCPE is also partnering with the High Impact Practices Committee to provide faculty with professional development seminars on HIPs.
