Adelphi celebrates its nursing alumni during national nurses week.
May 6th through May 12th is National Nurses week.
In that spirit, Adelphi salutes our more than 8,500 School of Nursing alumni who are making a difference in their communities and their profession. This Thursday, May 9, 2013, 157 Adelphi nurses will receive their pins and join our alumni community.
According to the American Nurses Association, National Nurses Week 2013 calls “attention to registered nurses (RNs) and their contributions to the health care system, both in the role they play as expert clinicians in diverse care settings and as leaders who can dramatically influence the quality of care and overall performance of the system into the future.”
This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Adelphi University School of Nursing, a milestone that will be celebrated with a reunion brunch on June 8, 2013. In the spirit of this anniversary, Adelphi introduced two new graduate programs in nursing to continue to meet the demands of today’s health care systems. In the fall, we began offering a Master of Public Health and this spring we introduced an online M.S. in Nutrition. These programs demonstrate how Adelphi University, especially the School of Nursing (nursing.adelphi.edu), continues to evolve to meet the demands of the region and our workforce.
On behalf of Adelphi University, thank you to all our nursing alumni.
