Alice Hoffman grew up on Long Island and earned a B.A. in English at Adelphi University and a M.A. in Creative Writing from Stanford. Her first novel, Property Of, was written at the age of 21.
Since that remarkable beginning, Alice Hoffman has become one of our nation’s most distinguished novelists. Her work has been published in more than 20 translations and more than 100 foreign editions. Her novels have received mention as notable books of the year by The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and Library Journal.
We are so proud that Alice has returned to Adelphi to to offer the Alice Hoffman Young Writers Retreat; an important opportunity for youth to develop their talents and share their voices.
