The senior relief pitcher was drafted in the 27th round.
Senior relief pitcher Dillon McNamara was selected by the New York Yankees in the 27th round of the Major League Baseball draft last Saturday, June 8. He is the first Panther to be drafted since Robert Nixon went to the Cleveland Indians in the 46th round in 2011.
While at Adelphi, Mr. McNamara was selected to a trio of All-America teams and merited three All-East Region nods and Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team accolades in 2013. He led the Northeast-10 Conference in saves with 13, posted a microscopic 0.28 earned run average and threw 29.2 innings of relief before allowing an earned run.
