Adelphi library has added to the extensive materials on its Immigration Research Guide site by launching a new blog.
With immigration issues continuing to dominate national and international politics, the Adelphi library has added to the extensive materials on its Immigration Research Guide site by launching a new blog devoted to stories of immigration by members of the Adelphi community.
The first entry in “Common Threads” is by Brian Lym, dean of University Libraries. Brian’s paternal great-grandfather came from China in 1855 as a boy, and actually worked on the transcontinental railroad. His maternal great-grandparents immigrated to Hawaii at the turn of the 20th century to work on sugar plantations. Read about them, and be sure to take the opportunity to explore the immigration research site. It’s filled with links to news articles, academic articles, books, legal information and other valuable resources on immigration. “Common Threads” is a joint project of the Adelphi University Libraries and the Adelphi University DACA, International & Immigration Task Force.
