On June 4 and June 5, 2018, Adelphi University welcomes college presidents, athletic directors, faculty athletic representatives, athletes and others, for the biannual Northeast-10 Conference Presidents Council.
On June 4 and June 5, 2018, Adelphi University welcomes college presidents, athletic directors, faculty athletic representatives, athletes and others, for the biannual Northeast-10 Conference Presidents Council.
“This is the first time, since joining the conference in 2009, that Adelphi will host this event on our beautiful Garden City campus,” said Emily Dorko ’13, M.B.A. ’15, associate athletic director for external relations.
The Presidents Council, brought together by the Northeast-10 Conference, is an opportunity for college presidents of member institutions and NE10 commissioners to discuss policies, issues and a variety of other topics.
The two-day event will feature meetings and networking opportunities, as well as the annual NE10 Banquet on Monday, June 4. Major award winners for the conference will be announced that evening, including the Man and Woman of the Year, Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the Presidents’ Cup, which is given to the institution that compiles the most cumulative points based on finishes in the regular season standings from all of its programs competing in league championships.
“The Presidents’ Cup is presented annually to signify overall athletic excellence in the NE10,” said Dorko. She added, “The Panthers have taken home the Presidents’ Cup in four of the last five years.”
