The cookbook offers 30 recipes using ingredients found in the Panther Pantry and the meal kits contain everything pantry-goers need for Thanksgiving except the turkey.

For this year’s Social Action Initiative project, "Uplifting Voices," students connected social work theory to practice by interviewing people in the community, and these are now featured on the StoryCorps site.

By training professionals to treat trauma in youth across the nation, the institute extends the School of Social Work mission far beyond campus.

Many dance majors go on to perform, but others have used their Bachelor of Fine Arts to create their own companies or schools or go into health professions such as  physical therapy. 

Students in theater, political science, computer science and biochemistry expanded their horizons by working in a Broadway theater or a public relations defense firm, competing in a NASA competition, or collaborating on research at a university in Poland.

Faculty members from the theater and English departments will each lead a trip to the United Kingdom: one for English literature in York and the other for theater in London. 

Panthers jumped into action to serve local nonprofits before the fall semester began.

Associate Professor David Machlis, PhD, took a group of university leaders to Poland this spring to study not only the Holocaust but the roots of hatred. A few weeks later, Dr. Machlis’s Two Museums Program for Adelphi students won a national award for its efforts to build understanding and combat intolerance.

The seventh annual conference encouraged attendees to adopt artificial intelligence, advocate for inclusion and be confident in their capabilities.

During a May 2023 webinar titled “Nurses Week: Putting the Pieces Together for Safe, Effective Care,” CNPH Dean Deborah Hunt, PhD ’12, said that patient safety and quality of care are integral to positive patient outcomes in all healthcare settings—but she cautioned that “adverse events” are still occurring at a “pretty alarming” rate.

According to Danny G. Willis, DNS, dean of the University of Rhode Island (URI) College of Nursing, who spoke at the Adelphi University College of Nursing and Public Health’s (CNPH) 15th Buckley Scholars Lecture on March 27, wellbecoming is the way we can promote a healthy mindset-“[it] is who we are and how we react,” he said. “We create our world with our mind.”

At each stop across the country, our alumni will be sharing stories of the extraordinary impact of their Adelphi education.

Hanna Kim, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Anthropology, has returned from a year away, studying and educating others about the Hindu community and religious group she has been researching for decades. Now she’s ready to complete a book on her work—and fuel her students’ passion for scholarship.

From helping clients cope with the effects of the pandemic to creating more climate-resilient communities to learning to heal through the arts, the School’s continuing ed workshops give mental health professionals the opportunity to gain valuable skills and earn credits. Renee Rawcliffe, director of continuing education and professional development, discusses the School’s approach and impact on the behavioral health community.

In 2023, Adelphi University’s Women’s Giving Circle celebrated its 12th year by awarding $29,660 to 12 innovative projects, programs and research that will benefit the Adelphi community.
