Every summer Adelphi students gain valuable career and life experience interning with local nonprofit organizations—and getting paid—through the Jaggar Community Fellows Program. At the end of every summer, a celebration is held in which the interns present their work to faculty, members of the nonprofits and guests.

Every August, Adelphi holds our Matriculation ceremony, a tradition in which the board of trustees, senior leadership and faculty welcome first-year students to the Adelphi community of scholars. At this year's ceremony, the Matriculation speaker was one of Adelphi's own—Scott Dimig '06, vice president at Epic Records. He may be 17 years removed from his first semester at Adelphi, but his excitement and energy matched that of the Class of 2023.

As always, there is a vegan option available daily Monday through Friday and gluten free buns and bread are available. Lunch in the tent is free for students all week (Monday through Friday) and free for faculty and staff on Friday.

The family can trace their roots back hundreds of years, going back to when Sir Cahir O'Doherty (1587–1608) led an unsuccessful rebellion against the English and was exiled, scattering members of the O'Doherty clan all over the world.
