Every year, Adelphi recognizes and celebrates faculty contributions to our University and its students with the presentation of the Faculty Excellence Awards.
Awards have traditionally been given for teaching, service and scholarly and creative work. This year, a new category was added—SJEDI (Social Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) awards—to recognize faculty members for their work in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion and for their commitment to social justice. In addition, the award that was previously given for scholarship and creative works has been separated into two: the Excellence in Faculty Scholarship Award and the Excellence in Faculty Creative Work Award.

Excellence in Faculty Creative Work Award: Sidney Boquiren, PhD, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Music, College of Arts and Sciences
SJDEI Excellence in Teaching Award: Laura Quiros, PhD, Associate Professor of Social Work, School of Social Work
SJDEI Excellence in Service Award: Charles Cal ’95, MS ’01, MBA ’03, Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing, College of Nursing and Public Health
SJDEI Excellence in Community Engagement Award: Reem Khamis-Dakwar, PhD, Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders, College of Education and Health Sciences
