Get instructions on how to set up and access your campus voicemail.

How to Set Up Your Voicemail

  1. Press * # # to access your voicemail. You will hear a tutorial begin to instruct you on how to set up your new voice mailbox. Please follow the instructions in the tutorial carefully.
  2. You will be prompted to enter a temporary passcode. The tutorial will then prompt you to change the temporary passcode to another 4 to 15-digit code that only you will know. At this point, you can either create a new passcode OR enter the same voicemail passcode that you have used previously.
  3. Record your first and last name.
    • Press 2 to record and press 2 when you want to stop recording.
    • Press 6 if you would like to hear your recording.
    • Press 5 to save or press 4 to record your name again.
  4. Record your personal greeting.
    • Press 2 to record as well as 2 to stop recording.
    • Press 6 if you would like to hear your recording.
    • Press 5 to save or press 4 to record your greeting again.
    • You will then hear “you are now ready to use your mailbox”

Changing Your Voicemail Greeting

  1. Dial 1-516-877-3990 off campus on campus dial 9-1-516-877-3990
  2. Press the # key
  3. Dial your personal four-digit extension
  4. Dial four-digit passcode
  5. Press 4
  6. Press 4
  7. Press 2
  8. Press 2

Change Security Passcode

  1. Dial 1-516-877-3990 off campus on campus dial 9-1-516-877-3990
  2. Press the # key
  3. Dial your personal four-digit extension
  4. Dial the current four-digit passcode
  5. Press 4
  6. Press 1
  7. Press 4
  8. Enter your new security passcode followed by the # key

Accessing Your Voicemail

Dial 3990. After the system answers, enter your passcode.

Dial 516.877.3990. After the system answers, press #.  Next, enter your extension number, then enter your passcode when directed.

 

Important Key Commands

  • 1 – Listen to messages
  • 7 – Delete a message
  • 9 – Save a message

During the playback of a voicemail message, you can skip to the end of the message by pressing 3 twice. You will then be prompted with the option to delete or save. You cannot delete a message by pressing 7 unless the message has been completed or skipped.

Voicemail to Email

AVST voicemail to email allows faculty and staff to receive an audio recording copy of any voicemail delivered to your Adelphi Gmail inbox. If you have a valid voicemail assigned and would like your voicemails to be sent to your email, please complete the online voicemail to email request form.
