Muslim Chaplain
Adelphi’s Muslim Chaplain works closely with and advises Adelphi’s Muslim Student Association. He also provides information relating to some of the local Islamic centers such as the Islamic Center of Long Island in Westbury.

Muslim Student Association
The Adelphi University Muslim Student Association (MSA) promotes unity among Muslims and non-Muslims alike. It is also for those interested in learning about the Islamic religion in general. The MSA conducts social, cultural, religious, and other activities, including festivals to celebrate Islamic holidays.
Muslim Student Association Meetings
Thursday: 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
University Center, Room 118/119
MSA meetings provide a forum for students to discuss their faith and its teachings in a friendly, inclusive and non-judgemental environment. Meetings often include an open discussion about any Islam-related topics members wish to discuss. The meetings are well-attended and sometimes include non-Muslim students.
Jumu’ah (Friday prayers)
Fridays from 1:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m.
Interfaith Prayer Space, University Center – Room 303
Jumu’ah, reflections on the Qur’an as well as contemporary issues, is given by the Muslim Chaplain Abdin Chande. Occasionally, MSA also offers a second Friday Khutbah from 2:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m. (given by a student, the Vice-President of MSA, when available).
The Interfaith Chapel has Muslim prayer rugs and copies of the Qur’an near the rugs. Additional copies of the Qur’an are available on the bookshelf near the Interfaith Center entrance.
Conveniently located next to the chapel is a bathroom with a foot-washing basin for making udhu (ritual washing before prayer),
Quranic Study Circle
The study session will be held after Friday Prayers for 30 minutes.
