Build a foundation of the fundamentals of sound production and recording.

This credit-bearing program is scheduled to take place from July 13-August 2, 2025 on Adelphi’s Garden City Campus.

This course is an extensive and practical introduction to the basic concepts and techniques involved in the use of contemporary music technology, including MIDI technology, digital synthesis, sampling, sequencing, digital audio production, and digital notation.

Students will be provided tools and resources to help them become active agents in the growth of their music knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Students who earn degrees in music can pursue roles in music education as a K-12 teacher, or within the music industry, including performance, composition, radio, recording, publishing and presentation.

In this course you will:

  • Build a foundation of the fundamentals of sound production and recording.
  • Expand and develop your prior knowledge of music and audio construction.
  • Create your own original music and audio recordings using software such as Google Chrome Music Lab, Soundtrap, Garageband, Logic, and Audacity
