2023 President's Gala

A dance performance from Suite Sharon Jones, choreographed by Orion Duckstein, associate professor and dance department chair, featured Sarah Baghdadi ’23, Valerie Corpuz ’23, Isabella Gamba ’24, Katie Jaffie ’23 and Brei Snyder ’23.

Adelphi University President Christine Riordan welcomed Gala guests, who enjoyed an evening of live performances, dancing and moving tributes to Adelphi’s supporters.

Peter Principato ’87 received the Adelphi University President’s Outstanding Alumni Award from President Christine Riordan.

“Live Out Loud,” from A Little Princess, was performed by Brooke Beck ’23.

Mary Jane ’62 and Thomas Poole were honored with the President’s Award for Distinguished Service.

“Make Them Hear You,” from Ragtime, was performed by Broadway star T. Oliver Reid.

Guests at the 23rd Annual President’s Gala had a front-row seat to the celebration of Adelphi’s legacy in the arts.

More than 300 guests attended “An Evening for the Arts at Adelphi: Legends and Legacies” on June 10 at The Garden City Hotel.

The President’s Humanitarian Award was presented to the Family of Jonathan Larson ’82. Jonathan’s sister, Julie, accepted the award.

Adelphi University Board of Trustees Chair Marc Strachan ’81 (at podium) thanked attendees for their support of the University’s mission and its students, as did Thomas Klein, EdD, vice president of University advancement and external relations (in background).

Throughout the Gala, attendees enjoyed performances by Adelphi alumni and students.
