Lecture Recording
What’s in your Digital Tool Kit?
Narrated PowerPoints allow you to present your lecture in a more personalized way by featuring your voice in each slide. Here are some brief tutorials to help you get started:

- How to Add Narration to your Power Point
- Reducing the file size (recommended before uploading to Moodle)
- Turn your Power Point into a Video
YouTube is a simple and efficient tool that you can use to record a video-only lecture. The built-in annotation features allow you to add text-based notes as a layer on top of the video for additional reinforcement of key ideas. YouTube even includes an automatic transcript feature that’s pretty accurate.

Panopto is a dynamic video recording tool that captures your video, PowerPoint and Desktop Screen all at once and wraps them into a single viewer for your students. The platform allows students to easily jump around within the presentation using the Power Point slides as an index. Your students can even take notes within the viewer as they watch the video!

Adding Captions in YouTube
YouTube currently offers automatic captions for videos that are uploaded to a user’s channel. While the captions are not perfect (and you’ll probably have to edit the transcript to a degree), it can provide you with a rough version. Find out more information on how to add captions in YouTube.
