Professional Experience

I have been a full-time faculty member of Adelphi since 2014. My teaching expertise is in the graduate nursing program. I have practiced in cardiology as an adult health, board certified nurse practitioner. I also have experience in emergency nursing, nursing education in a tertiary care setting, and neurology clinical trials.

Personal Statement

I am dedicated to teaching and mentoring nursing students in the undergraduate and graduate programs to be future leaders in the profession of nursing.

My interests are in how students learn and engagement in the classroom.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosphy is that students learn when complex information is made understandable. Actively engaging students in their work is key to successful learning and retaining information.

Research Interests

Caregiver quality of life in Huntington's disease (HD).

International Experience

In January 2017, I was the faculty for a group of undergraduate students on a service learning trip to Costa Rica. The trip included teaching and educating an indigent, migrant population of adults and children on the benefits of self-care.
