Specialization/Interests

My scholarship in International Relations focuses international organizations and multilateral diplomacy. I have published a number of books and articles on both the United Nations and the European Union, and my expertise lies at the intersection of these two organizations. I am also interested in multilateralism and multilateral diplomacy more generally.

My teaching comprises a broad array of courses in international relations, from Theories and Practice of International Relations to European Politics and International Law and Organization. I also teach courses in the International Relations major and for the Levermore Global Scholars program.

Research Interests

My research focuses on international institutions in international relations, in particular the United Nations and the European Union. I have published several books and articles on United Nations politics as well as how the European Union interacts with the United Nations, and EU foreign policy more generally.
