Trauma manifests itself in a variety of psychological and physiological ways. This workshop will explore how the mind and body are connected to experiencing and processing trauma.
Overview
Clinicians often try to use the mind to address trauma responses, however there is growing evidence that supports accessing the body, via the nervous system, may help clients better manage trauma responses. In this workshop, you will leave with tools and techniques to help clients feel empowered and more in control of their experience with trauma. This training will accomplish an understanding of trauma as it relates to the nervous system and common dysregulation symptoms. It will include a variety of tools and techniques to regulate the nervous system in order for the mind and body to process trauma.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Clinicians will understand the physiological makeup of trauma as it relates to the nervous system.
- Clinicians will be able to identify how trauma is processed and stored in the nervous system and brain.
- Clinicians will develop skills to calm the nervous system and therefore a trauma response through evidence-based methods
- Highlight the collaborative process of the relationship between therapist and client via individual telehealth sessions

Faculty Bio

Kristy Case, LCSW, OSWC
Kristy Case, is a licensed clinical social worker and certified oncology social worker with nearly two decades of experience working with adults and families impacted by cancer and major illnesses. She works as an outpatient oncology social worker at her local cancer center, maintains a private therapy practice where she also functions as a clinical supervisor, and orchestrates various support groups for cancer patients. Dedicated to education, Kristy instructs students and lifelong learners on mental health topics and frequently delivers presentations on trauma and anxiety at national and international conferences. Additionally, she is a trained yoga teacher and reiki practitioner, incorporating these disciplines into her comprehensive and holistic healthcare approach.

Cancellation Policy
Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made seven working days or fewer before the event for any reason—or for no-shows. We can provide credit towards a future workshop up to 24 hours before the event. After that, no credit will be issued.
