Join us for a lecture by renowned author and activist Kevin Powell, as part of a series honoring Baldwin’s lasting impact.
The Center for African, Black and Caribbean Studies invites the Adelphi community and beyond to celebrate with us the centennial birthday of American author, civil rights activist James Baldwin.
This lecture will be one in a series of monthly events commemorating his life and examining the impact of his published words and the indelible imprint of his influence on Black culture and minds. Our annual James Baldwin Distinguished Lecture will be delivered by American author, journalist, filmmaker, radio host/contributor and 2024 Grammy-nominated Poet, Human and Civil Rights activist Kevin Powell. The title of his talk is “Why James Baldwin Matters More Than Ever.”
