SEAS Miffy’s Cafe Shop

In East Asia, especially South Korea and China, cafes are everywhere in the city. Coffee and cafe culture is unique because it is the center of much of the culture’s social life. Since apartments are small, people look elsewhere to spend time with their friends. More often than not, they will turn to cafes. It is for this reason that many unique cafes (such as animal cafes) have become so popular. A few Miffy-themed cafes and shops have also grown to be special and a big lifestyle in Japan. Miffy’s popularity in East Asia can be attributed to its cute and simple design, global merchandising, adaptations in various media, cross-cultural appeal, and collaborations that have contributed to the character’s widespread recognition and acceptance in the East Asia region.
