Date & Time: September 10 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: Multicultural Center (UC 301)

Out for Lunch is an informal conversation series which allows students to meet and connect with LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and administrators in a casual space.

This series provides students the opportunity to hear from faculty, staff, and administrators who identify as LGBTQ+ about their life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in a more personal manner that might be possible in a classroom or appointment setting. All university students are welcome to attend the Out for Lunch series, regardless of their identities. For this lunch, we will be talking with Ashely Newman, Assistant Director for Assessment and Student Success in the Office of Residental Life and Housing.

Come join Assistant Director Ashley Newman as she speaks to her experiences coming out later in life and how that affected how she navigates the spaces she is in today. We can discuss how all members of the LGBTQIA+ community’s journies are different and how it can shape the way we show up for our friends, peers, and allies. In addition, Ashley will talk about Brave Spaces and how you can support your peers in navigating their own journeys by ensuring the communities, clubs, organizations, and physical spaces you influence are brave.

Free lunch will be provided for the first 15 attendees. If you plan to attend and have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please email Robby Fahrenholtz with that information so an appropriate meal can be provided.
