Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness. Participating groups spend the week holding a series of educational, service, fundraising, and advocacy events.
Events this week include:
11/18 at 11:00am-12:00pm – Food Insecurity – A presentation by Mary Pat Beirne of Long Island Cares, a local food bank in UC 113
11/19 from 9:00am – 4:00 pm – Adelphi Giving Room –volunteer to sort, or donate your gently used clothing and non-perishable items by dropping them off to UC 113
11/20 from 12:00pm-1:00 pm – Can Castles – sign up, create a team, bring in non-perishable canned goods & build structures to compete for first place in UC 113
11/21 from 11:00am – 1:00pm – Care Kits – make care kits of toiletries to donate to a local shelter in UC 203
