In this introduction to the Alexander Technique for Performing Artists, learn the basic principles for how to change your movement and thinking habits in order to unlock your greatest performance potential. In the first hour, everyone will participate in exploratory games to help us unearth together the principles of the Alexander Technique. In the second hour, watch the Alexander Technique principles applied to performance in a master class setting with a singer and an instrumentalist.

Matt Cahill

Matt Cahill is an AmSAT certified teacher of the Alexander Technique who specializes in working with performing artists. BM Juilliard School. MM Bard College Conservatory. He currently teaches at the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program for the Metropolitan Opera and at the Circle in the Square Theatre School. From 2018-2022 Matt created, led, and taught at Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard’s musical theater program.
