This year’s African American Read-In celebrates the contributions of Black authors through the theme of African Americans and Labor.
The Adelphi community and the wider public are invited to read and reflect on the literary works of celebrated Black authors, including the following and more:
- Maya Angelou
- James Baldwin
- Amiri Baraka
- Gwendolyn Brooks
- Ta-Nehisi Coates
- Nikki Giovanni
- Langston Hughes
- Zora Neale Hurston
- Toni Morrison
- Alice Walker,
- Jacqueline Woodson
A selection of books by these authors will be available for participants to read during the event. Upon arrival, please sign in to take part in this enriching literary experience.
We look forward to celebrating the voices and stories that illuminate the experiences and contributions of African Americans in labor and beyond.
