The digital landscape has amplified barriers for dance/movement therapists and clients to stay connected to the here-and-now and can create challenges in attunement on a body level within the clinical session.

Overview

This workshop will highlight the collaborative process of the relationship between therapist and client via individual telehealth sessions, define the intersections of relational integrative psychotherapy and dance/movement therapy, and describe case examples from one dance/movement therapist’s experience of remaining attuned through embodied attending skills within a private telehealth practice.

Faculty Bio

Meredith Casimiro

Meredith Casimiro is a board-certified dance/movement therapist and licensed creative arts therapist with extensive knowledge about the mind/body experience through somatic practices. Meredith is a lifelong mover, dancer and yogi who holds a Master of Science in dance/movement therapy from Pratt Institute, a BA in Dance from CUNY Hunter College and a graduate of The Ailey School and the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. Meredith has worked in a variety of settings, and with a wide range of populations and is currently working in private practice.

Adelphi University School of Social Work is an approved provider for continuing education credits for the following:

Successful completion for the award of approved continuing education credits requires attendance at the entire training/workshop and submission of a completed evaluation form.

Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made seven working days or fewer before the event for any reason—or for no-shows. We can provide credit towards a future workshop up to 24 hours before the event. After that, no credit will be issued.
