A Safe Zone is a place where all people can feel safe, supported and welcome, particularly members of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender communities.

This workshop addresses microaggressions and discriminatory behaviors, promotes the use of inclusive language, and delves into the complexity of sexual identity. It also provides practical steps for individuals and groups to become allies and help create Safe Zones.

Facilitator: Anna Zinko

Prerequisites: All four required workshops in the Diversity Certificate program: Diversity and Cultural Competence in Higher Education, Addressing Racism, Confronting Implicit Bias and Micro-aggressions, and Gender Bias and Title IX

You must complete the prerequisites before participating in this workshop.
