FCAP gives incoming first-year students the opportunity to participate in various volunteer and community service projects in the community prior to the start of classes.
By participating in this 3-day program, open to first-year resident and commuter students, they will have the opportunity to:

Before starting at Adelphi, I was anxious about my first day—worried about getting lost and not finding my classroom. When I saw the chance to visit campus and familiarize myself beforehand, I jumped at it.

Our students volunteering at the Northport VA Medical Center, cleaning up the meditation garden for our veterans suffering from PTSD. This garden is an area they can go to connect with one another, talk about their experiences, and bring peace.
Crossroad Farms is one of the closest organic farms to New York City. Our FCAP students assisted with harvesting crops, seeds and weeding.
