Graduate Assistantships
Assistantships for students in the School of Health Science master’s programs are a unique way to lower the cost of your education while gaining valuable work experience.
As a graduate student, you will work under the careful supervision of faculty or staff in locations like the Human Performance Lab. Some examples of graduate assistantships are:
- Sport Management undergraduate students work as officials and perform camera and broadcast work for intramurals, helping to live stream athletic events.
- Graduate assistants work in public relations, marketing, and finance, and serve as head or assistant coaches.
- In addition to co-teaching undergraduate courses, Physical Education graduate assistants conduct and present research at Adelphi’s annual Research and Creative Works Conference, as well as conferences for the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America.
- Undergraduate Exercise Science students coordinate with Campus Recreation to provide personal training opportunities for students, faculty and staff.
Additional prerequisites are needed for MS in Exercise Science students pursuing a graduate assistantship.
