SGA Student Senate
The Student Senate is SGA’s supreme legislative body. It is composed of senators that represent nearly every constituency on campus. Each representative in the general senate is elected in the fall.
The senators commit themselves to SGA for a yearlong term and consistently work on campus-wide initiatives that support the needs of the student body. In addition to these voting representatives, the Student Senate welcomes any student to attend our weekly meetings Tuesdays beginning at 6:00 p.m., check MyAULife for locations.
Student Senate Responsibilities
The Student Senate is responsible for discussing, debating, and voting on the various bills, proposals, and/or resolutions presented by any of its members or the Executive Cabinet. The Senate also provides oversight of all organizations under the Student Government Association’s purview and reserves the right to establish or dismantle such organizations and properly allocate funds collected from the Student Activity Fee. Any questions concerning the New Student Organization approval process (PDF) or other information regarding student organizations may be directed to sga@adelphi.edu.
