It is recommended that individuals interested in joining the Adelphi University Greek community research all of the different organizations on campus, look for the best match between the organization’s and personal values, and be prepared to be committed to the traditional ideals of Greek life.

Adelphi University’s Greek Life and Social Fellowship community is composed of several councils, each with their unique mission and purpose. Each of these councils plays a vital role in Adelphi University’s Greek Life and Social Fellowship community, working to promote leadership, service, and diversity among its members.

The IFC is the governing body for the fraternities on campus. It works to promote cooperation and collaboration among member organizations and fosters a positive image of Greek life in the wider community. The IFC also oversees recruitment and organizes various events and activities throughout the year


The Multicultural Greek and Fellowship Council (MGFC) represents and supports multicultural
Greek organizations and social fellowship organizations on campus. The MGFC works to
promote diversity, cultural awareness, and academic excellence among its member organizations. Multicultural Greek and Fellowship organizations aim to bring together students of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, providing a space to celebrate their heritage and foster a sense of community. The MGFC works to promote collaboration and cooperation among its member organizations and organizes various events and activities that celebrate diversity, cultural awareness, and social connections.


The Panhellenic Council is the governing body for the sororities and women’s fraternities within the National Panhellenic Conference on campus. It works to promote unity, scholarship, and service among its member organizations and oversees the recruitment process for new members. Panhel also organizes various philanthropic and social events throughout the year.
