Mentalization and Attachment-Based Dyadic Intervention: Improving Caregiver-Child Attunement
The Attachment Video Feedback Intervention (AVI) to Promote Parental Sensitivity and Child Development
An evidence-based intervention grounded in attachment theory.
Attachment theory and observational studies provide a framework for practitioners working with vulnerable families. Based on the core concepts of this theory and the use of positive video feedback, the Attachment Video feedback Intervention (AVI) aims to enhance parental sensitivity, parent-child interaction quality, and children’s full development (socio-emotional, cognitive, and neurophysiological). Randomized control trials comparing the AVI to standard services have demonstrated its efficacy in several scientific studies and with families of different countries (Canada, France, and Spain). The implementation of the AVI is thus grounded in evidence-based data with typically developing and with neurodiverse children.
