Student Business Organizations
Accounting Society
The Accounting Society brings students and professionals together for work and play to explore the field of accounting. The society sponsors visits to accounting firms, weekly presentations by guest speakers and an annual networking social event. Members can join sports teams that compete against teams from accounting firms and other universities.
Delta Sigma Pi
Delta Sigma Pi is a national fraternity for people of any gender pursuing careers in business. Kappa Rho, the Adelphi chapter, holds professional, community service, social and fundraising events and works with other organizations on campus to educate students on business-related topics. Recruitment takes place each semester.
Finance Society
All Adelphi students interested in finance and economics are welcome to join the Finance Society, which provides opportunities for hands-on experience and professional development through guest speakers, internships and visits to financial services firms.
Human Resources Society
Adelphi’s student chapter of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) sponsors guest speakers, holds workshops and participates in the annual Long Island SHRM conference. Our affiliation with the national organization gives members valuable networking and internship opportunities.

Professional Honors Societies for Business Students
Beta Gamma Sigma—International Business Honor Society
Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society that recognizes and rewards superior academic achievement. Benefits include access to the Student Leadership Forum, the Scholarship Program, Alumni Chapter Network and the Career Central Job Board. Membership is open to:
- Undergraduate students who have achieved junior status, have completed at least 30 credits at Adelphi and are in the top 10 percent of their class
- Graduate students who have completed at least half of their graduate business
program and are in the top 20 percent of their class
Beta Alpha Psi—International Honorary Organization for Financial Information Professionals
Beta Alpha Psi is the international honor society that recognizes achievement in the field of financial information. Events for students and professionals promote the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems. This organization provides opportunities for self- development and service and champions a sense of ethical, social and public responsibility. Students who have earned at least 30 credits at Adelphi and attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 are eligible to join.
