Deanna Dempsey ‘19
Deanna Dempsey is a 2019 graduate from the College of Nursing and Public Health. She participated on the Adelphi women’s golf team where she was a three-time team MVP and received the Coaches’ Award twice. She currently works for Northwell Health at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Deanna is enrolled in the Psychiatric Mental Health-Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP) graduate program and will graduate in December 2024.
Michael J. Driscoll Jr. ‘13
Michael J. Driscoll Jr. ’13 came to Adelphi in the Spring of 2011 as a transfer student. A history Major, Michael was involved in campus, first working in the IT Department before moving to the Public Affairs Office. Michael was also a member of the Adelphi men’s golf team. Upon graduation, Michael started working at Fox Business Network as a Guest Greeter, before switching careers to Media Sales at Cox Media Group where he started in 2014. In March 2022, Michael followed his passion and started his current role of Territory Sales Manager for Srixon/Cleveland Golf/Nike, where he covers Long Island and Manhattan. Michael has given back to Adelphi since graduating, supporting the Learning Resource Program, as well as, the Athletics Department.
Kevin Hutzel ‘14
Kevin Hutzel graduated from Adelphi University with his bachelor’s in political science in 2014. While balancing his responsibilities as a student, Kevin was a captain and all-conference selection on the Adelphi baseball team. He then went on to Hofstra University Law and graduated in 2018. After Hofstra, Kevin worked as an Assistant District Attorney for Nassau County where he learned the inner workings of the justice system. Currently, he is a Crisis Management Associate at Meister Seelig & Fein PLLC where he services athletes, entertainers and high-net-worth individuals.
Stephen Scelfo ‘15, MBA ‘16
Stephen Scelfo ‘15, MBA ‘16 graduated Cum Laude from Adelphi University with his Bachelors in Accounting in 2015 and an MBA in 2016. During his time at Adelphi, he served as the president of Kappa Sigma, was a member of Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society and served on various other executive boards and student clubs. His experience at Adelphi played a pivotal role in shaping him into the person he is today. He was hired by KPMG LLP, a Big 4 accounting firm, right out of Adelphi where he is currently a Senior Manager in the firm’s Northeast Commercial Audit Practice, servicing clients in the higher education, not-for-profit and government space. In his spare time, he often revisits campus to speak at the University’s accounting society meetings and networking events to mentor students.
Nicole Schwartz ‘22
Nicole Schwartz ‘22 studied economics while at Adelphi and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022. She was a member of the Adelphi women’s golf team after picking up the sport as a sophomore at Mount Sinai High School. In her freshman year at Adelphi, she received the Outstanding First-Year Student Award. Today, she is working as a Cyber & Technology Insurance Underwriter at AXIS Capital, a specialty insurer and reinsurer. She stills plays golf in her free time, participating in an indoor golf league in NYC.
James Smith ‘12
James Smith ‘12 studied sports management and minored in business while at Adelphi. In 2015, he entered the workforce as a B2B office technology sales associate with Xerox. Success within Xerox led him to be the Director of Production Print for the mid-Atlantic market, helping the company grow from seven to 10 million dollars in just his first year. In the beginning of 2023, he started with Emerald Document Imaging as a strategic account executive, responsible for Long Island and New York City. James is married and has three beautiful children.
