After You’ve Received Your Acceptance
Pay Your Deposit
Secure your seat at Adelphi and initiate your invitation to the International Services Portal to begin your I-20 or DS-2019 request.
Set Up Your eCampus Account
The Adelphi eCampus portal gives you secure access to your university email and essential services. Check your email address used on your admissions application for a unique one time use URL that will allow you to create a password for your new student eCampus account.

International Services Portal
Your main source for immigration records, document delivery, and where you will need to submit your I-20 or DS-2019 request.
Request I-20 or DS-2019
This form is necessary to study in the United States and to register for classes and the deadline is July 15 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester.
After You’ve Received Your I-20/DS-2019
Pay the SEVIS Fee
New F or J visa applicants must pay the required I-901 fee prior to your visa interview.
Apply for Your Visa
Plan early to apply for your visa to avoid delays in your studies.
Before You Arrive
Moving from one country to another is not easy. That’s why Adelphi makes this process as clear as possible.
Contact your academic advisor to schedule an appointment for assistance with Program Requirements, Registering for Classes, and using CLASS. You can locate your academic advisor in your student profile on the International Services Portal.
Please note that you must enroll and maintain a full course of study each academic semester.
Submit your Complete Health History and Physical Examination Form to the Health Portal located in eCampus or email your completed form to healthservicescenter@adelphi.edu.
Adelphi requires all international students to be insured by the School Insurance Plan. Review insurance fees, waiver requirements, instructions and deadlines by clicking here: Health Services Insurance Information and Requirements. J-1 Exchange Visitors, including any dependents, are subject to J-1 Insurance Requirements.
Adelphi offers students the option to live on campus in one of our residential communities, which offers support and convenience while living with other students.
You can also choose to stay close to campus or live in New York City with off-campus housing options.
Make sure to pay your tuition fees in full by August 1 for the Fall semester and January 6 for the Spring semester unless a payment plan is elected.

Plan your itinerary to arrive at Adelphi University prior to the program start date listed on your I-20 or DS-2019. You can enter the U.S. no more than 30-days prior to this program start date. There are documents required for travel that you must present to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in order to enter the U.S.
If you need transportation to get to Adelphi University, there are several public transport options as well as free shuttle buses daily.
If you cannot arrive prior to your program start date, contact International Services.
This in person workshop is mandatory for all international students and scheduled prior to the start of classes. Make sure to check your university email address for specific details. Spring 2024 Semester is scheduled for January 22 and Fall 2024 Semester is scheduled for August 22.
Depending on your specific program and degree level, New Student Orientation can provide opportunities to get to know university personnel, learn about student life, and make new friends.

Once You’ve Arrived
Attend the mandatory international student regulatory workshop, which is scheduled prior to the start of classes. Make sure to check your university email address for specific details. Spring 2024 Semester is scheduled for January 22 and Fall 2024 Semester is scheduled for August 22.
You are required to provide a local physical address, telephone number, personal email, and emergency contact information to your Designated School Official within 10 days of any change. You can update your address in your “My Student Profile” available through eCampus.
Students must complete the required immigration check-in process using the International Services Portal in order to meet the obligation to report to the school, submit appropriate documents for review, and complete SEVIS registration. Go to the I-94 website for more information.
Visit Public Safety located in Levermore Hall, Room 113 to get your official Adelphi University student identification card. Don’t forget to bring a photo ID (i.e. your passport) with you.
There are multiple meal plan options to fit any lifestyle, whether you are a resident or commuter, part-time or full-time. Explore meal plan details, hours and locations.
You must attend all classes, participate as required, submit all assignments on time, and consistently meet academic standards. If school is too difficult, speak with your designated school official immediately. Academic resources and Academic Coaching Services are available.
While studying at Adelphi, international students must follow a specific set of rules, depending on visa type and educational level to maintain valid status. It is the responsibility of the individual student to follow all regulations associated with the student visa and not take any action that detracts from that purpose as this may cause a violation of status, resulting in the termination of status and an interruption in studies. Essential Information
On campus, International Services is where you will locate your Designated School Official (DSO) or Responsible Officer (RO). This person can provide advising and support for international students to achieve their educational goals and maintain their status.
While studying in the United States, you must fulfill the purpose for why the Department of State issued your visa and follow the regulations associated with that purpose. It is the responsibility of the individual student to maintain legal status and comply with all requirements in order to maintain valid status. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the termination of your status resulting in removal from the United States. Regular contact with International Services will help you keep current with any change which may affect your status.
