Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture as you take tango lessons, explore the scenic beauty of Buenos Aires and Tigre, and dive into an authentic football experience. But it doesn’t stop there—this trip also offers a unique opportunity to give back by providing childcare to those in need. Join us for an exciting, meaningful journey that blends cultural exploration, hands-on experiences, and community service—all while making lifelong memories!

Payment Schedule

On University Tickets you will make the following payments:

  • Deposit –$1000 (first come first serve to reserve your spot on the trip). Make your deposit here!
  • Payment #2 – $400 – February 28
  • Payment #3 – $400 – March 7
  • Payment #4 – $400 – March 14

Full payment of the trip fee must be made before departure for the trip!

Excursions

The following excursions are included in your program fee:

  • Football (Soccer) Experience – Feel the true Argentinian football passion like never before! Head into the stadium to watch the match from prime seats, surrounded by enthusiastic local supporters. An expert guide will be with us every step of the way, providing safety advice and tips before, during, and after the game, ensuring a smooth and thrilling experience.
  • Tango Lessons – Unleash your dance passion and explore the renowned Tango with a one-hour lesson from a professional instructor in a traditional Milonga!
  • Trip to Tigre – Uncover the beauty of Tigre, one of Latin America’s most stunning wetlands, with the guidance of our local coordinator. Tigre’s traditional delta, shaped by the convergence of two major rivers carrying sediments from Brazil and Paraguay, offers a captivating natural escape just north of Buenos Aires.

Housing Accommodations

Apartment-styled housing that is gender specific, shared with up to 4 people. All participants will be in the same complex.

Itinerary 

This itinerary is tentative, and the full itinerary is to be announced, however, below is an example of what a typical schedule is for an Alternative Break.

  • Sunday – Arrive, settle in
  • Monday – Orientation, city exploration day
  • Tuesday – volunteering, excursion
  • Wednesday – city exploration day, excursion
  • Thursday – volunteering, city exploration day
  • Friday – volunteering, excursion
  • Saturday – Depart

Requirements of Eligibility

  • Be a currently enrolled student at Adelphi University
  • Valid Passport (in your current possession) with an expiration after October 2025. You will not be able to enter the country if your passport expires before October 2025.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Clean conduct record

  • Kelsey D’Andrea – Assistant Director for the Center for Student and Community Engagement (has previously chaperoned 4 Alternative Break trips- 1 domestic, and 3 international)
