The GRE is not required for our MSW application.
You will meet with a social work enrollment counselor in planning and registering for courses once registration opens for the term you were admitted. Typically advisement begins in March for Fall and Summer admits and in October for Spring admits.
Admitted students may defer their start term up to one year without having to re-apply to the program.
We consider applications based on the merit of the completed application.
The GPA used is a cumulative GPA calculation. If you took courses at another institution, all transcripts are evaluated to determine a cumulative GPA. The only courses transcripts not required are for college credits taken in high school.
We recommend addressing your academic history in your personal statement. This gives the committee some understanding of what may have impacted your grades at the time and demonstrates your insight. You may also include why you believe you would be successful in a graduate level program and indicate supports and/or plans you have to ensure your success.
Some applicants also consider taking a non-matriculated course or two to help strengthen their application. You could take a generalist level master’s level course at Adelphi or another accredited university to demonstrate your ability to master the graduate level of study. Non-matriculated courses are not eligible for loan support. There is no guarantee of acceptance.

The curriculum is structured in a way in which students take courses sequentially as well as some courses concurrently. As such, the timing of when you would be able to move from a part-time to a full-time student is crucial and one in which you will work closely with your academic advisor or center director on determining an appropriate path for you. It is important to note that it typically reduces the path by one semester.
The online program is part time only.
