Program Mission

The mission of the master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics program is to prepare students to become registered dietitians who empower individuals and communities to work towards a healthier future.

Program Goals

Program Goal #1

  • Program graduates will be equipped to pass the RD exam, contribute to the profession and meet the employment standards of the nation.

This goal will be measured by the following objectives:

1.1 At least 80 percent of program students complete program requirements within three years.

1.2 At least 90 percent of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.

1.3 The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of the first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80 percent.

1.4 At least 90 percent of graduates who respond to the “Exit Survey” will report that they feel confident and prepared to begin their careers as effective RDN professionals.

Program Goal #2

  • Program graduates will exhibit the comprehensive knowledge and ability to ethically and appropriately provide Medical Nutrition Therapy for diverse populations and communities.

This goal will be measured by the following objectives:

1.1 Of graduates who seek employment, at least 80 percent are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.

1.2 The program must develop an objective for employer satisfaction with graduate’s preparation for entry-level practice.
